Aladdin 2016

Aladdin 2016

This production was dedicated to the memory of Malcolm Clay (1945 – 2015) who wrote in a previous programme ….

“A programme note to a recent production of ‘Aladdin’ which I saw in a provincial theatre,  informs us that “in essence the Aladdin story shows how easily we can be seduced by the temptations of power and wealth and the fulfilment of our every desire — it is a tale reflecting our human struggle and it is just as relevant today.” I much prefer to think of it as a charming story, full of colour and excitement and where, in the true tradition of pantomime, good triumphs over evil.

This is a production for which the script has been especially written by me and which has involved months of planning and, although I know you will doubt this, weeks of rehearsal.  Amongst the principals we have several making their pantomime debuts and also several old and familiar faces who still believe they are on a mission to turn rubbish into an art form.”
